Our Activities


Here you can read about the various activities that the chapters of DreamIndia2020 involve themselves in as of now, the many programs that are happening, along with the names and contacts of the people running the show. The aim is to keep you updated with the latest happenings and also give you an opportunity to join any of the programs. You can contact any of the people whose names figure in the list and they would only be too happy to give you more details. Alternately, you can always mail admin@dreamindia2020.org If you are in a city where DreamIndia2020 does not yet have a chapter, we would encourage you to bear the flag and start a chapter there. We would offer you support in many forms. Just let us know!

Visit to Samyuktha foundation,Hyderabad

Geethanjali from DreamIndia got a chance to visit a mobile school in Gacchibowli run by Samyuktha foundation. Samyuktha foundation runs mobile schools around Hi-Tech city in Hyderabad and also supports various other activities. Here is the link of Samyuktha foundation http://samyukthafoundation.org/. DI meets Dr. Kalam

DreamIndia had the chance to meet Dr Abdul Kalam at the Raj Bhavan in Chennai on the night of 24th July. Cofounder Natarajan Raman, along with seven other partner NGO representatives had an hour long meeting about various issues in the country and their possible solutions. Watch out for a detailed report.




Education Assitance

Mr Balasubramanian, a 17 year old boy from the Virudhunagar district from Tami Nadu, has managed to score the third rank in his school final exams despite conditions of extreme poverty at home. With his mother and sisters working in the matchbox industry and with a father who is ailing, it has been really tough for this boy to get to where he has reached now. DI was quick to spot the opportunity and assisted him by paying Rs 15,000 for his college education. Contact admin@dreamindia2020.org to know more



Saraojini Varadapan Trust orphanage

DI Chennai visited Saraojini Varadapan Trust orphanage and New Life charity trust last week. Soon we would share the details on the level of support DI would be able to extend to the homes. Contact admin@dreamindia2020.org if you want to join hands to help these homes



Vasantham

DI Chennai recently joined Vasantham to take part in Tenth Citizen Run at Lady Wellington college, Chennai. Keep watching this space for more details. Contact admin@dreamindia2020.org if you want to participate



Assist with a child

Do you know of any meritorious student who cannot pursue education because of poverty? Do drop an email to admin@dreamindia2020.org with all possible details. DI would do its best to support them upon verification.



Kaakum Karangal Visit

On July 6th 2008, we got to see another beautiful deed of the DreamIndia Chennai team. On behalf of DI, a few volunteers of the Chennai team took care of the dinner for all the 43 residents of the Kaakum Karangal Old age home in Thiruvamiyur, Chennai. Congratulations Mr. Sugumar!!

Mr. Sugumar.E, whom we at DreamIndia supported by paying his education fee, has completed his ITI-Welding course with flying colors. He has found a couple of jobs through campus placements as well. The boy has made sure that through his work his family is set free of its financial constraints. If ever there need be any proof for the power of education, this case will serve as one. ACBC@DreamIndia

DI Pune team conducted the fifth Anti Child Begging Campaign ( ACBC ) very recently. The response from the community was awesome as visitors applauded , hugged , congratulated , promised to volunteer and vowed to stop child begging. Click here to see the campaign snaps.
