Our Activities


Here you can read about the various activities that the chapters of DreamIndia2020 involve themselves in as of now, the many programs that are happening, along with the names and contacts of the people running the show. The aim is to keep you updated with the latest happenings and also give you an opportunity to join any of the programs. You can contact any of the people whose names figure in the list and they would only be too happy to give you more details. Alternately, you can always mail admin@dreamindia2020.org If you are in a city where DreamIndia2020 does not yet have a chapter, we would encourage you to bear the flag and start a chapter there. We would offer you support in many forms. Just let us know!

Story of hardwork, 14 July 2009:

Our student Ponni has scored 80%, 2nd topper in the class. Dream India wishes her all the best. We are proud to be associated with her.
Bhuvana has scored 91.7% in her second semester. She scored 90+ in her 1st semester too. Bhuvana is a very sincere and hard working student. Dream India is proud to be associated with Bhuvana. On behalf of our team, I convey our best wishes to Bhuvana. I am sure she would continue her good work and make us all proud.
Lalita, a DI sponsored student from Andheri pada has secured a first class in STD XII exams. She has secured 65 % in Accountancy and an overall aggregate of 61%. She wishes to persue her FY.BCom. Lalita has made us proud.
Another remarkable achievement is Pooja Chavan from Apale Ghar. Pooja cleared her 10th exams. Her never-say-die attitude is commendable and so is the dedication and the concerted efforts of Pune volunteers.
Congratulations to all our students on their success.



Anti-Tobacco day, 31 May 2009:

On 31st May 2009, DI borivali chapter organised Anti-Tobacco Day campaign. Children did street play,explained posters made by NGO,distributed handbills(made by DI) suggesting how to quit tobacco habits and ill effects of tobacco. As you may see children(and DIvolunteers too) were quite enrgetic in this whole day activity and they got invitation from Lions Club to perform for next weekend. People have really appreciated the activity.

BNHS Visit

We visited Conservation Education Centre,of Bombay Natural History Society situated near Film city,Dindoshi on 19th May.this was their regular designed program for children of weaker section.we started close to 7 am and reached by BEST bus after changing one at Dindoshi.22 children and about 4 volunteers attended the same.

Borivali updates

The last couple of weeks have been very hectic for the volunteers of the Borivali center. We selected four students to take enroll in a MS-CIT computer course (Project documents attached) and finally paid the money for them today. The course is for three months and will begin on 20th of April. The project documents have more details on the same

 

Dream India is celebrating 31st May as the 'Say No To Tobacco' Day. There are various events to be held on that day. Many volunteers arerequired for these events. Details are given below. The regular classes are still going on.

 

Chennai - Valasarawakkam Class updates

We have enrolled three of the very interested students of last year's classes at Valasarawakkam for Type-writing classes.. These students are going for the classes for past 10 days.

We have also planned to give scholarships of Rs.1000 each to two of the best students as a token of their interest in learning and sincerity. This scholarship would be utilised towards payment of school fees, books and uniforms for those students for the next academic year.
